In Iran women are prohbited from entering football stadiums. Parisa Pourtaherian decided to defy the laws of her country without actually breaking it by going to cover a men football match, from a terrace of a building located near the stadium.
Several images were taken by Pourtaherian while standing holding her lens on top of a terrace near the Vatani Stadium in Qaemshahr, where she was able to take photos and not break the law, in a country where women are banned from entering any stadium where the opposite gender is playing, according to the Indian Express.
Images for Pourtaherian were widely shared on social media with thousands of retweets and comments.
Comments on social media users supported Pourtaherian for her courage and resilience, as she covered the match for her news agency.
In Iran, a country where women are being oppressed by mandatory hijab laws or being banned from entering stadiums, such acts receive applause and support from many Iranians.

“As sad as this situation is, it’s so cool to see someone do exactly what others said they couldn’t do.”
Several images and videos have emerged of Iranian women protesting their country’s laws and human rights in Iran.

Another image went viral earlier is during the Russia’s World Cup 2018 for an Iranian young woman in a stadium while attending a football match while dressed in a short skirt with the colors of the Iranian flag.
